As COVID-19 has taken us out of our everyday routines, Lose It! is focused on providing the tools and support to make this shift easier. Beginning with the decision to close our main office and move the team remote, our top priorities remain ensuring the health and safety of our employees and providing support to our community.

Here’s what we’ve done since COVID-19 began impacting the United States. We have more we want to do, and will keep updating you here as we continue to roll out new resources and support.

For Our Members & Community

New Features Available in Free Version of Lose It!

With routines changing and priorities shifting, weight loss goals may feel less realistic and less attainable. To support our members during this time, Lose It! has released a suite of new features focused on providing guidance and support to members while also making the process of logging meals easier.

These new features include a Community Support Group and In-App COVID-19 Content as well as a new Smart Camera, Advanced Search Capabilities, Physical Activity Level Adjustments, and more. To learn about all of the new features available, check out our Press Release here.

Donation to Meals on Wheels

With the team working entirely remotely, certain in-office benefits like commuter subsidization and food delivery were put on hold. The team at Lose It! donated the money saved from these benefits to Meals on Wheels, a charity that provides meals to the elderly community at home.

Free Challenge Available to the Public

Challenges, a corporate-wellness app also made by our company, allows Apple Watch owners to participate in team activity challenges. Understanding a little friendly competition could go a long way to motivate the community, Lose It! launched a free challenge open to the public for the first time.

To join the public challenge, Apple Watch owners just need to download the Challenges App to their phone and enable it on their Apple Watch. Participants have the option to join an existing team or create one of their own, and can earn points by closing their Move, Exercise, and Stand rings daily. The challenge runs from April 1 through April 21.

Community Content

With the onset of COVID-19 in the United States, Lose It! turned to our advisory board of Registered Dietitians and Health & Wellness Professionals to provide content that can help our members make informed decisions and motivate them to stick to their wellness goals.

Starting with a few blog posts around healthy pantry staple items and immune system boosters, we’re now taking requests from the community and providing new blog posts daily with at-home workouts, stress-relief tips, recipes, and more. Check out the COVID-19 Support section below for new posts daily.

For Our Employees

Remote Work Setups

With the closure of our headquarters in Boston MA, Lose It! has offered each employee an additional monitor and supporting technology to make their working from home experiences more comfortable.

Wellness Stipend Use Toward Workout Equipment

While a monthly wellness stipend has always been part of the Lose It! benefits, employees are now unable to use this for their normal gym and exercise class routines. With a heavy focus on the health and wellness of our employees, Lose It! now encourages members to use this stipend towards at-home gym equipment.

DoorDash Gift Cards

Lose It! employees were each given a $100 giftcard to DoorDash, allowing them to support local restaurants while also enjoying a few delivered meals from the comfort and safety of their homes.

Coffee Chats & Happy Hours

Isolation can really take a toll on mental well-being, and to combat this, the team at Lose It! regularly hosts virtual coffee chats and happy hours for employees to join in and socialize.

Lose It! Data Highlights

In an effort to provide support and tools to our members during the COVID-19 pandemic, we surveyed 1,000 Lose It! members and weren’t surprised to learn that over 90% of participants said their normal routines were disrupted. This raised the question of how this change in routine affects our eating and exercise habits, so we dove into the data to find out.

Check back here weekly for interesting data trends as we continue to uncover more from our database of 50 million food and exercise logs.
